Introducing our new Creche,
launching 8th June 2008 at 10.00am
The Church of the Ascension, Wall Heath
The little Church, for little people
The Church of the Ascension, Wall Heath, recognises the challenges facing those with
young children wanting to come to church. Our new creche is aimed at providing support
which we hope will encourage you to come along and enjoy a time of worship.
When will the creche run?
The creche is to be held every Sunday morning in the Church Hall and will run throughout
the 10.00 service. Families will be invited to take their children to the hall during the second
hymn, for around half an hour. Everyone can then rejoin the main service in time for the
Eucharistic prayer and communion.
Who can attend?
The creche is principally aimed at 0-6 year olds attending our church. A registration form
will have to be completed for every child in attendance.
What will happen during creche?
There shall be a range of activities tailored for the varying ages of children in attendance
from playtime with toys and crafts, to activities, songs and bible stories. Our aim is to give
the young children and families of our church a chance to get to know each other and offer
support amongst our church community. We also aim to fulfil the needs of parents who may
wish to change or feed their baby in a comfortable and private environment.
Should I stay with my child?
We would ask that all children have one parent or guardian with them. This would offer the
remaining family members a chance to focus more easily on their worship. We can discuss
arrangements when you feel your child would be happy to be left with those volunteer
church members running the group.
